Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, has hit theatres with high expectations following the success of its predecessor.
While the film delivers solid performances, especially from Riteish Deshmukh, who shines in his negative role, it struggles with a somewhat predictable and slower-paced story.
Ajay Devgn reprises his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, investigating a powerful and corrupt antagonist, Dada Manohar Bhai (played by Riteish). While the film explores political power games, corruption, and family rivalries, it lacks the suspense and sharpness of the first part.
The direction, though competent, falls short in maintaining the intensity throughout. The first half is slow, and the addition of songs disrupts the film's pace.
Despite these issues, the acting and a few dramatic moments keep the film engaging. Overall, Raid 2 is worth watching for its performances but does not surpass the original.
