The Orange Economy includes sectors like music, films, gaming, animation, fashion, and digital content. These industries are becoming major contributors to India's economic growth and global cultural influence.
Modi emphasized that Indian films, music, and cuisine are already loved worldwide. The creative sector is expected to add even more value to India's GDP in the coming years.
Currently, the Orange Economy is valued at around $30 billion. It employs nearly 8% of India's workforce. Creative exports from India exceed $11 billion annually.
To support this growth, the government has launched initiatives like the WAVES Awards. They have also announced a $1 billion creative economy fund to nurture talent and innovation.
The WAVES Summit is a four-day global event. It brings together creators, investors, and industry leaders from over 90 countries. The summit features talent hunts, startup accelerators, and immersive showcases.
This event aims to position India as a global content powerhouse. It celebrates storytelling in all forms-from traditional folk art to cutting-edge digital animation.
Despite challenges like intellectual property enforcement and limited rural digital access, the Orange Economy is gaining momentum. It promises to drive inclusive and sustainable growth.
As PM Modi said, this is not just about culture-it's about capital. The Orange Economy marks the dawn of India's creative revolution on the world stage.
