Goodbye Playoffs! Dhoni's CSK sinks as Punjab Kings steal the Show!

What a night in Chennai! Punjab Kings pulled off a heart-stopping 4-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings, knocking Dhoni’s squad out of IPL 2025 in a do-or-die clash.

Batting first, CSK posted a solid 190 thanks to Sam Curran’s explosive 88 off 47 balls. The Englishman was on fire, smashing boundaries at will, supported by Dewald Brevis with a handy 32.

But just when CSK looked set for 200+, Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web with a brilliant hat-trick! His 4/32 turned the tide, stunning the Chennai crowd into silence.

Chasing 191, Punjab looked composed. Prabhsimran Singh set the tone with a fiery fifty, while skipper Shreyas Iyer oozed class, smashing sixes at crucial moments.

Even as Pathirana and Jadeja tried to bring CSK back, Shreyas kept cool under pressure, guiding the chase like a true leader.

Brevis pulled off a breathtaking catch to dismiss Shashank, but it was too little, too late.

Punjab reached 194/6 in 19.4 overs, sealing victory with two balls to spare and crushing CSK’s playoff hopes.

With just 8 points, Dhoni’s men are now officially out of contention. Punjab, on the other hand, roars into the top-tier race.
