This daily habit with shoes is weakening your foot muscles!

Most of us wear shoes from morning to night, thinking they protect our feet. But orthopaedics now warn that wearing shoes all day, every day, might be doing more harm than good.

According to experts, when we’re always in closed shoes, our feet don’t get the space or flexibility to move freely. This can lead to stiffness, reduced strength in foot muscles, and even long-term issues like pain, poor balance, or posture problems.

Modern shoes-especially those with tight fits or high heels-often restrict the natural movements our feet are designed for. The small muscles and tendons inside our feet become lazy because the shoes do all the work. Over time, this can lead to weaker feet and even ankle or knee pain.

Doctors recommend allowing some barefoot time each day-at home, on safe and clean surfaces. Walking barefoot improves blood flow, activates muscles, and strengthens foot function.

So next time you’re home, consider ditching those shoes for a while. Your feet will thank you later.
