Apani Dhani in Nawalgarh is more than a stay it’s a 30-plus-year movement in eco-tourism that blends heritage, sustainability, and community. Founded in 1990 by Ramesh Chandra Jangid, an ex-pilot inspired by environmentalists, it uses rammed-earth walls, grass roofs, solar panels, rainwater harvesting, composting, and organic farms to offer a low-impact sanctuary in the Shekhawati region. Spread across 3.3 acres, the farm grows vegetables, cereals, pulses, and fruit without chemicals, contributing to the lodge’s delicious, homemade vegetarian meals.
Guests are invited into an immersive cultural experience learning pottery, Mandana art, cooking classes, craft workshops, camel-cart rides, and heritage walks led by locals all of which channel income directly back to the community and preserve regional crafts. The lodge also supports local education, environment, and heritage projects, allocating 5% of room revenues toward them, and promotes fair, responsible tourism rooted in ethics and transparency.
Apani Dhani is a quiet celebration of conscious travel a place where every brick, meal, and workshop echoes respect for culture, environment, and shared human values.
