Jodhpur Arts Week 1.0 (Oct 1-7, 2025), organised by the Public Arts Trust of India (PATI) under the theme Hath Ro Hunar (“skill of the hand”), is more than an art festival: it is a reclaiming of authorship, heritage craft, and creative equity.
Over 20 international artists and designers will collaborate with master artisans—stone-carvers, dyers, weavers, quilters—in residencies, site-installations, co-creation projects, and public interventions across Jodhpur. The city’s streets, stepwells, bazaars and heritage architecture become both canvas and workshop: each artwork is rooted in local materials, techniques and everyday practice.
Importantly, the festival emphasises that artisans are not just supporting players: their craft knowledge shapes the narrative, aesthetics and value. With artisan-designer and community dialogues, it resists the usual hierarchy that separates “fine art/design” from “craft”.
