Amarnath Yatra suspended on Pahalgam, Baltal routes in J&K !

Heavy rainfall across Kashmir prompted authorities to suspend the Amarnath Yatra from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes on July 30, 2025 to ensure pilgrims’ safety. The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu and Kashmir, posted on its official X handle: “Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been suspended for 30.07.2025 from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps” .

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, confirmed that continuous heavy rainfall since early morning had made trekking tracks unsafe, leading to the precautionary suspension of Yatra movement from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwari routes.

The disruption is extended to the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu, where no convoy movement will be allowed on July 31, 2025, impacting pilgrim departures to both Baltal and Nunwan/Pahalgam camps.

So far, over 3.93 lakh pilgrims have completed darshan at the Amarnath cave shrine this season. Authorities stressed that the suspension is temporary and will be lifted once conditions improve.
