The internet’s newest beauty obsession is making people look intentionally “sweaty” - and surprisingly, it is becoming one of the biggest makeup trends of 2026. Known as the “dewy glossy skin” trend, the look focuses on glowing cheekbones, shiny lids, glossy skin, and makeup that creates a fresh post-workout or beach-day effect.
Unlike older matte makeup trends that focused on hiding shine, this viral aesthetic celebrates hydrated, luminous skin that looks natural and effortless. Beauty lovers are now swapping heavy powders for lightweight skin tints, cream blushes, balm highlighters, and glossy finishes to achieve that soft radiant glow.
But while the trend looks stunning online, dermatologists warn that heavy glossy makeup during Indian summers can sometimes clog pores and trap sweat, oil, and bacteria on the skin. This may increase the risk of acne, breakouts, irritation, and heat rashes, especially for people with oily or sensitive skin.
Experts suggest using lightweight and non-comedogenic products if you want to try the trend safely. Proper skin prep, sunscreen, facial mists, and removing makeup before sleeping are also considered extremely important.
Many makeup lovers online are also debating whether the trend looks “dewy” or simply “oily” in humid Indian weather. Some believe the glossy look works better in controlled lighting and cooler temperatures than in real-life summer heat.
Still, the “sweaty skin” trend is dominating beauty feeds because of its fresh, effortless, and “clean cool-girl” vibe.
