Santosh Singh’s romantic drama, adapted from Ruskin Bond’s “The Eyes Have It,” pairs Vikrant Massey as a visually impaired musician with newcomer Shanaya Kapoor playing a theatre artist pretending to be blind. Set against scenic train journeys through Mussoorie and even Europe, the film brims with visual elegance.
Shanaya impresses in her debut with a nuanced underplay, and Massey delivers a grounded, “heartfelt and real” portrayal . Their connection emerges as the film's emotional core, though chemistry remains intermittent .
Critics describe the storyline as “convoluted,” overly sentimental, and plagued by implausible plot devices—particularly the prolonged blindfold gimmick and sudden narrative shifts post-interval . With a sprawling 138-minute runtime, the film loses narrative grip, lacking the depth expected from a lyrical romance.
The cinematography impresses, and Vishal Mishra’s soothing melodies are a delight .
A visually rich homage to old-world romance that struggles under its own narrative weight. Shanaya Kapoor’s standout debut and Massey’s sincerity offer brief brightness in an otherwise uneven journey.
