You’d expect India to be home to the tallest Ganesha statue but the world’s tallest standing Lord Ganesha actually rises majestically in Thailand. Located in Chachoengsao province’s Khlong Khuean Ganesh International Park, the nearly 39-metre-tall bronze idol was completed in 2012 and built from 854 pieces covering 40,000 m² of land.
This isn’t a standard seated idol. Ganesha stands in a forward-stepping posture—symbolising progress and readiness—with four hands each holding culturally meaningful items: jackfruit (abundance), sugarcane (joy), banana (nourishment), and mango (wisdom).
Part spiritual landmark, part cultural fusion, the statue underscores Ganesha’s deep resonance beyond Hinduism—known in Thailand as Phra Phikanet—embodying wisdom, success, and obstacle removal across faiths. The surrounding park is a pilgrimage and tourist magnet, hosting rituals, meditative spaces, and local celebrations amid peaceful, landscaped settings
