Riding a bike on Indian roads is thrilling, but often risky. Bengaluru-based startup BYTES aims to change that with its AI-driven Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for two-wheelers. Founded in 2024 by Aayush Kumar and Prakhar Agrawal, the company’s mission is to build a “guardian angel” for bikers that can detect danger before it strikes.
Using dual cameras and an AI model trained on thousands of kilometres of Indian road data, BYTES’ system can identify threats like blind spots, collisions, and sudden obstacles in just 33 milliseconds, faster than human reaction time. The system then alerts riders through LED signals, haptic feedback, and infotainment notifications, helping them respond in time.
Supported by Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund, IIT Mandi Catalyst, and Startup Karnataka, BYTES has already raised over ₹1 crore in grants and is piloting its tech with major two-wheeler manufacturers.
The company’s goal? To democratise road safety by offering affordable, AI-powered ADAS systems priced between ₹7,000 and ₹15,000, making advanced biking safety accessible to all.
As India’s roads get busier, BYTES could redefine what it means to ride smart and safe.
