In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is offering its Namo Bharat trains and stations on the Delhi–Meerut corridor as rentable venues for private events. Whether it's a birthday party, pre-wedding photoshoot, or a small celebration, you can now book either running or static train coaches. A specially designed mock-up coach at the Duhai Depot is also available for photo shoots. The charges begin at ₹5,000 per hour and include an extra 30 minutes on either side for decorations and dismantling. Events are permitted only between 6 AM and 11 PM, and simple decorations are allowed within defined guidelines. NCRTC staff and security will supervise the events to ensure safety and ensure that regular train operations are not disrupted.
This move not only creates a novel and visually striking event space, but also provides the transit system with an additional revenue stream. In addition to personal gatherings, the policy covers film shoots, advertisements, documentaries, and other media projects, making Namo Bharat a creative canvas for both personal and commercial storytelling.
