A new AI app called Splat is turning everyday family photos into colouring book pages for kids. Parents can upload pictures of family moments, pets, or special memories, and the app converts them into clean, printable outlines that children can colour.
The app uses artificial intelligence to transform photos into different styles like cartoon, anime, manga, or 3D movie looks, making colouring more fun and personalised. Kids can colour directly on the screen or print the pages for offline use.
Splat is designed to encourage creativity and imaginative play, especially for younger children. It also includes parental controls so adults can manage usage and subscriptions safely.
Users get limited free access, while paid plans allow the creation of hundreds of colouring pages over time. The idea behind the app is to turn personal memories into creative activities instead of passive screen time.
While many parents see it as a fun and creative tool, some also feel that balance is important so children continue to develop patience and hands-on skills alongside digital play.
