Winter in India is not just about shawls and cold mornings - it begins in the kitchen, with steam rising from age-old drinks brewed with love and memory. From the valleys of Kashmir to the coasts of Bengal, every region has a winter beverage that tells a story of climate, culture, and care.
Kashmiri Kahwa, infused with saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon, gently warms the body while boosting immunity. Rajasthan’s Bajra Raab, made from pearl millet and jaggery, offers strength and comfort in every thick sip. North India’s fermented Kanji, prepared from black carrots, brings tangy flavour and gut health together.
In Bengal, Nolen Gur Cha captures winter nostalgia with the sweetness of fresh date palm jaggery. Shorba and Rasam, light yet spiced broths, soothe the body across regions. And Kashmir’s iconic Noon Chai, the salty pink tea, turns warmth into a ritual.
These drinks aren’t trends -they’re traditions passed down through generations, keeping winters soulful.
