At just 17, Yuvan Aggarwal from Gurugram noticed skilled artisans earning little because they relied on middlemen and festival sales. Instead of waiting for someone else to act, he created Hunarsetu - a WhatsApp‑based platform that helps artisans sell their crafts directly to customers, without complicated apps or hidden fees.
Through simple chats, artisans upload photos, set prices in their language, and receive orders straight to their phones. Today, Hunarsetu supports thousands of sellers, with tens of thousands of products reaching a wider market.
From terracotta pots to handwoven bags and embroidered textiles, artisans now earn steady income, gain dignity, and control their craft. Yuvan’s simple but powerful idea bridges tradition and technology, showing that one determined teen can transform how artisans thrive in today’s digital economy.
