Meta has expanded its AI-powered translation and dubbing feature on Instagram and Facebook Reels to include Hindi and Portuguese, in addition to the previously supported English and Spanish. The rollout, announced via Meta’s official blog, aims to help creators reach new audiences by automatically translating, dubbing, and optionally lip-syncing video content across languages.
With the update, creators will see a “Translate your voice with Meta AI” option while uploading Reels, allowing them to choose whether to enable lip-syncing for a more natural effect. Translated videos always carry a “Translated with Meta AI” label, and viewers can toggle translation on or off through the audio settings menu.
The feature is available to all public Instagram accounts and Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers, in regions where Meta AI is supported. Meta said more language expansions are planned for the future, making content more globally accessible and breaking down linguistic barriers for creators and audiences alike.
