Back after 4 years, Archer aims for India finish and ashes glory!

After a four-year hiatus from Test cricket, England pacer Jofra Archer has declared his ambition to feature in the final two matches of the ongoing India series and push for a place in the Ashes squad later this year.

The 29-year-old fast bowler returned to the Test arena during the third match against India at Lord’s, where his pace and energy impressed fans and selectors alike. Archer, who has battled persistent elbow and back injuries since 2021, said in an interview with Reuters that he feels "better than ever" and wants to make up for lost time. “One Test is done. Now I want the next two against India, and then the Ashes. That’s the goal,” he stated confidently.

His performance at Lord’s, where he bowled sharp spells and picked up crucial wickets, signaled a strong return. England selectors are reportedly open to including him for the Oval and Old Trafford Tests, as they finalize plans for the 2025–26 Ashes series in Australia.
