Massive blow for India! Bumrah ruled out of final Test against England!

Jasprit Bumrah will miss India’s series‑deciding fifth Test against England at The Oval - opening July 31 - after the BCCI medical team advised resting him to safeguard his recovering back and manage long‑term workload. Despite batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirming that Bumrah is presently fit according to his load and has bowled only one innings in the last match, the decision to exclude him aligns with pre‑series plans limiting him to three Tests during the England tour .

With Bumrah omitted, Akash Deep - fresh from a sensational ten‑wicket haul in the Edgbaston Test and now recovered from a groin injury - is poised to return to the playing XI. India trail 2‑1 in the five‑match Anderson‑Tendulkar Trophy and must win the Oval Test to level the series.

Veteran Mohammed Siraj is expected to continue leading the pace attack alongside Deep and possibly Arshdeep Singh or Prasidh Krishna, while the management weighs spinning options such as Kuldeep Yadav
