At Enactus Sri Venkateswara College, waste isn’t a problem – it’s potential.
Our three projects transform discarded materials into sustainable products while uplifting the communities behind the scenes.
Project Gulzar addresses India’s mounting floral and paper waste. Over 800 million tonnes of flowers and 13 million tonnes of paper are discarded annually, with only a quarter of the waste recycled. The paper waste is transformed into seed paper products like hand-painted bookmarks and calendars, while floral waste is hand-rolled into eco-friendly incense sticks by underprivileged women artisans in Delhi.
Project Fankaari combats terracotta waste by turning used kulhads into soy-wax candles and planters, while also tackling single-use plastic through terracotta-based packaging alternatives. It upcycles discarded glass bottles into painted platters and dip bowls—preserving traditional pottery and empowering local artisans.
Project Aaranya brings together nutrition, innovation, and a vision to grow. Using coco peat made from discarded coconut husks, we grow microgreens under our GYG (Grow Your Greens) and HYG (Harvest Your Greens) models—empowering homes and businesses to embrace wellness. The same waste is also upcycled into durable, biodegradable coco-cutlery.
Together, these projects embody Enactus SVC’s mission to transform tradition into innovation and amplify the untold stories of artisans, driving change where it's needed most.
