Internet sensation Sunil “Dolly” Patil, known as Dolly Chaiwala, announced on his Instagram page that he’s rolling out pan-India franchise models - including carts, stores, and flagship cafés - branded as “India’s 1st viral street brand” with entry prices from ₹4.5 lakh to ₹43 lakh depending on the format.
Despite the buzz, reactions have been lukewarm. Many users commented “hazam nahi hua”, expressing skepticism. One remarked, “People always look for consistent quality vs different experience.” Another wrote, “Boycott to invest this kinds of franchise only for tea… Dolly Bolly never gives you market return.” These sentiments echo Reddit threads cautioning against inflated franchise fees in the F&B sector.
Dolly’s fame peaked after viral reels - featuring his flamboyant style and even serving Bill Gates - but critics argue that success didn’t necessarily translate into scalable quality. While its novelty may attract curiosity, franchisees are expressing doubts about the long-term sustainability and ROI of the venture.
