When Pankti Pandey began with a home waste audit, she never imagined it would evolve into a nationwide sustainability movement. By mindfully sorting kitchen scraps, replacing plastic packaging with reusable containers, composting organic waste, and crafting her own natural cleaners and personal-care products, she drastically reduced her household’s environmental footprint.
In 2021, she launched ZeroWasteAdda as a social-media platform to share practical, science-backed lessons on eco-living. Through DIY hacks, composting workshops, slow-fashion ideas, and sustainable food choices (like local grains and millets), Pankti aims to make sustainability accessible and doable for ordinary households.
Over time, the initiative gained widespread traction: today ZeroWasteAdda has more than 400,000 followers. Pankti’s followers describe the content as grounded, actionable, and non-preachy — a welcome contrast to environmental activism that seems distant or abstract. She has also been recognized formally: she won the “Green Champion” title at the National Creators Award 2024.
