Flight operations disrupted amid heavy rain in Delhi!

Delhi experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on the morning of July 29, leading to significant disruptions in flight operations. Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet all issued travel advisories cautioning passengers about possible delays and urging them to check flight statuses and allow additional time for airport transfers, especially given increased congestion across the city.

The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport also alerted travelers that adverse weather could impact arrivals and departures. Authorities recommended using alternate transport options like the Delhi Metro to avoid traffic snarl-ups caused by waterlogging.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts persistent rainfall in Delhi until August 3–4, with storms, lightning, and gusty winds across the NCR region - including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram. The IMD has issued a red alert for areas of the eastern NCR, warning of intense rainfall that may reduce visibility and severely affect road and air travel.

Travelers are advised to regularly monitor weather updates and flight schedules, expect delays, and plan their commute to the airport accordingly to minimize inconvenience.
