In Bengaluru, Veena Peter’s Tara’s Doll House is redefining playtime. Sparked by her daughter Tara’s love for long-haired dolls, Veena crafted her first eco-friendly doll from scrap fabric and wool in 2022.
Frustrated by low-quality plastic toys, she launched a business that now earns ₹2 lakh monthly. Her handmade, customizable dolls, priced from ₹500 to ₹3,500, boast soft, tangle-free woollen hair and come in diverse designs, including mermaids and cultural figures.
With a women-led team, Veena ensures zero-waste production, recycling fabric scraps into accessories.
Tara’s Doll House, sold online and offline, has captured hearts in cities like Bengaluru and Delhi, with plans for international expansion. Offering portable wooden dollhouses and matching outfits, Veena’s creations promote sustainability and imagination, proving a mother’s love can stitch together a thriving, eco-conscious brand.
