You wake up, check your phone, scroll a little… and suddenly you’re already late. No sunrise, no silence... just notifications. Somewhere between rushing for college, replying to texts, and binge-watching at night, your day just… disappears.
And the weird part? It feels normal.
Urban life is supposed to be exciting. There’s always something happening... cafes, people, plans, content. You’re constantly surrounded, constantly stimulated. But when was the last time you sat alone without reaching for your phone? Or noticed something simple, like the sky changing colors?
We’ve replaced real moments with quick dopamine hits. Instead of feeling life, we’re consuming it. Aesthetic reels instead of real sunsets. Texts instead of conversations. Plans for photos, not memories.
And slowly, without realizing it, everything starts to feel a little… distant. You’re present everywhere, yet nowhere at the same time.
The city teaches you to keep moving. To stay busy. To not pause. Because the moment you stop, you might feel that emptiness creeping in... the one we all try to ignore.
But maybe that’s the point.
Maybe we’re not supposed to feel full all the time. Maybe boredom, silence, and slowness aren’t problems... they’re the only things that actually connect us back to reality.
Because right now, we’re not really living less…
we’re just experiencing it less deeply.
