Sharing travel pictures online feels harmless-but posting your boarding pass can actually put your personal information at risk.
A boarding pass may look simple, but it carries more data than you think. It includes your name, flight details, and a barcode or QR code that can store hidden information.
If someone scans or decodes that barcode, they could access your booking reference and potentially view or even change your travel details. This opens the door to privacy issues, scams, or misuse of your information.
What seems like a fun travel update can quickly turn into a security problem.
The safer option? Avoid posting your boarding pass online. If you really want to share it, make sure to blur out important details like your name, QR code, and flight information.
