Acupuncture, a 3,000-year-old healing technique from traditional Chinese medicine, is gaining global popularity for its wide-ranging benefits. It works by inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to restore the flow of energy, or “Qi,” through meridians-channels believed to balance physical and mental well-being.
Once used mainly for pain relief, acupuncture is now being used for much more-like easing anxiety, improving skin, balancing hormones, and supporting fertility. Experts say it triggers the body’s natural healing chemicals like endorphins, reducing inflammation and restoring inner balance.
A typical session lasts about an hour and uses 5 to 20 needles, placed gently on areas like the hands, feet, or face. Most people report little to no pain. Results vary-acute pain may improve quickly, while chronic conditions need multiple sessions.
Acupuncture is also safe for children, seniors, and even pets. For those afraid of needles, acupressure offers similar benefits using finger pressure or tools at home.
As stress and hormonal issues rise, more people are turning to acupuncture as a natural way to heal and feel balanced-without side effects or medication.
