U.S. President Donald Trump today cast considerable uncertainty over America’s next move, stating he “may do it, I may not do it” when asked about a possible U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities amid the intensifying Israel‑Iran conflict.
Speaking from the White House South Lawn, Trump added: “Nobody knows what I’m going to do… Iran’s got a lot of trouble and they want to negotiate.” He claimed Tehran “suggested they come to the White House,” framing the moment as a “ultimatum”. Trump also voiced regret over the conflict, lamenting, “it’s very sad to watch this,” and questioned why Iran hadn’t engaged in diplomacy earlier.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that the Pentagon has provided Trump with military options—potentially including bunker-buster munitions capable of penetrating Iran’s underground nuclear sites. Meanwhile, Iran has vehemently denied any plea for negotiations, condemning Trump as a “has-been warmonger” and asserting it “does NOT negotiate under duress”.
