Uber has officially rolled out Courier XL in India, enabling customers in Delhi NCR and Mumbai to ship heavy packages up to 750 kg via 3‑ and 4‑wheeler vehicles - all booked seamlessly through the Uber app. Building on the success of its bike-based Uber Courier service - operational in 25 cities with over 5 million users and a 50% surge in delivery volumes in 2024 - this launch marks the company’s bold push into large-item logistics.
Uber’s Parcel XL is designed to serve both households and small businesses, addressing the demand to move bulky inventory, furniture, or heavy equipment within the city . The platform offers familiar features like live tracking, upfront pricing, and on-demand convenience, promising a tech-enabled solution to streamline heavy-lift deliveries .
While Uber steps into territory dominated by logistics firms like Porter, this launch signals its ambition to cover the full spectrum of delivery needs - from lightweight parcels to heavy cargo. With planned expansion to more cities in the coming months, Courier XL could revolutionize urban logistics in India.
