Why did Sarojini Nagar wake up spotless this weekend suddenly?

Anyone visiting Sarojini Nagar Market recently would have noticed something unusual: cleaner walkways, less dust and a more pleasant vibe. This was the result of a special cleanliness drive carried out by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in Circle-13, opposite Keshav Park.

Led by Sh. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chairperson, NDMC, the drive focused on a high-footfall stretch used daily by shoppers, morning walkers and park visitors. Extra attention was given to dust control, waste removal and overall hygiene, making the space feel more open and welcoming.

Sarojini Nagar is not just a shopping hub; it is a shared public space where thousands pass through every day. Even small improvements here can make a big difference to comfort, health and the overall mood of the area. Cleaner surroundings also encourage people to respect and maintain public spaces better.

More than a one-day effort, this initiative reflects NDMC’s ongoing commitment to citizen comfort, public health and cleaner market environments. For visitors, the impact is simple and immediate: shopping, walking and spending time here now feels noticeably better.
