On Wednesday morning, Delhi witnessed its third consecutive day of bomb threat hoax emails targeting educational institutions. Five more schools- St Thomas School (Dwarka), Vasant Valley School (Vasant Kunj), Mother’s International School (Hauz Khas), Richmond Global School (Paschim Vihar), and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya (Lodhi Estate) - received threats claiming explosive devices had been planted, prompting evacuations and full security sweeps by the Delhi Police, Fire Department, bomb disposal, dog squads, and cybercrime teams. No suspicious items were found during these checks.
This brings the total to 10 schools and one college targeted since Monday. On Monday, the Navy Children School, CRPF Public School (Dwarka), and CRPF School (Rohini) were threatened. On Tuesday, St Thomas School and St Stephen’s College received hoax emails; the college was specifically warned of IEDs and RDX bombs near its library. Again, thorough searches found nothing.
Authorities are now investigating the origins of the threat emails via cyber forensic units. Delhi Police have heightened vigilance, and schools are urged to bolster email security and prepare for quick threat response
