India’s art scene is bursting with fresh, bold, and boundary-pushing exhibitions this August. From stitched emotions to ancient tribal tales, 11 new art shows across the country are giving voice to identity, politics, and personal journeys.

At Studio G Spot in Goa, “Love me, stitch me” explores queer love and fragile relationships through embroidery and textiles. In Mumbai, DAG gallery unveils “Satyajit Ray’s India”, showcasing rare photographs taken by the filmmaker himself - a treat for cinephiles and photo lovers.

Hyderabad’s Shrishti Art Gallery presents “No colour, no caste”, a powerful group show confronting discrimination and societal norms. Meanwhile, Gallery Dotwalk in Gurgaon celebrates women-led narratives with works that mix poetry, paint, and protest.

Bengaluru’s Gallery G features “Tribal Mythos”, a Gond art celebration that revives oral storytelling with vibrant visuals. In Delhi, Exhibit 320 and Nature Morte host deeply conceptual exhibitions on politics, environment, and identity.

From big cities to quiet corners, these shows reflect India’s evolving identity - raw, real, and revolutionary. Whether you love contemporary or traditional, these August exhibitions offer a must-see experience that goes beyond just art.
