After Lord's defeat, Calls grow louder for Kuldeep's return to India XI!

After India’s narrow 22‑run loss in the third Test at Lord’s, pressure is mounting on head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill to rethink their strategy for the fourth Test starting July 23 in Manchester. NDTV reports suggest both leaders have received a “clear message” to bring in Kuldeep Yadav, who hasn’t played in this series yet, for added spin strength  .

Kuldeep’s inclusion could address the lack of a fourth specialist bowler, a tactic supported by veteran Ajinkya Rahane, who emphasized the need for 20 wickets to win Tests and urged the team management to “add an extra bowler” . This advice comes amid concerns that India’s reliance on batting depth—featuring all‑rounders like Jadeja, Sundar, and Reddy - backfired at Lord’s due to insufficient bowling penetration.

With the series at 2–1 in England’s favor, Manchester is now a “must-win” scenario. Gambhir and Gill must balance batting firepower with a stronger bowling attack to avoid a tail‑end collapse, and signals from the team suggest Kuldeep is in prime position to join the XI.
