An Agniveer jawan of the 7 JAT Regiment, identified as Lalit Kumar, was killed in a landmine explosion during area domination patrol near Krishna Ghati on the Line of Control in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on July 25, 2025. Two other soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer, were injured and are reported to be in stable condition after being shifted to a military hospital.
The White Knight Corps paid tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar, stating: “We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.” The post on X (formerly Twitter) conveyed heartfelt condolences from all ranks. The blast occurred during a routine area-domination operation aimed at maintaining security along the forward LoC belt.
This incident comes amid heightened military readiness and ongoing operations following recent border tensions. The army continues demining activities and patrols in the forward areas to safeguard against infiltration and maintain dominance.
