Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer at tech firm Astronomer, has announced her resignation following a highly publicized moment captured on Coldplay’s concert “kiss cam.” The jumbotron famously caught Cabot in an embrace with then-CEO Andy Byron at Gillette Stadium, Massachusetts—a moment that went viral with over 99 million views. Actor Chris Martin joked onstage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” fueling social media frenzy.
Following the scandal, both Cabot and Byron were placed on administrative leave while Astronomer launched an internal board investigation. Byron had earlier resigned on July 19, 2025, and Pete DeJoy, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, was appointed interim CEO. Cabot confirmed her departure later in July.
Astronomer issued a statement affirming commitment to leadership accountability, stating expectations were not met. The company removed profiles of both executives from its website and deleted prior press releases. The incident triggered widespread debate about executive conduct, workplace ethics, and private lives’ exposure in the digital age.
