Meet Abidur Chowdhury, the designer behind Apple's Slimmest iPhone!

Apple’s latest marvel, the iPhone Air, was unveiled at the “Awe-Dropping” event on September 9, 2025, and it’s officially the slimmest iPhone to date—just 5.6 mm thin, encased in premium titanium, with a 6.5-inch OLED display and Pro-class internals. Priced at ₹1,19,900 for the 256 GB version in India, the iPhone Air delivers Apple Intelligence and the A19 Pro chip in a sleek, lightweight frame.

Behind the iPhone Air’s bold design stands Abidur Chowdhury, an industrial designer at Apple. He guided viewers through the device’s minimalist structure - remarking it's “a paradox you have to hold to believe.” Born and raised in London, Chowdhury earned his degree from Loughborough University before joining Apple in 2019. Known for solving design challenges, he reconfigured internal components to fit a high-density battery, ensuring all-day performance despite the phone’s slim profile.
