Hindu College rules Colleges, IIT Madras owns All - NIRF 2025 Is Out!

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 results are out, and IIT Madras has secured the top spot in the overall category for the seventh consecutive year. Known for its strong research ecosystem and global collaborations, IIT Madras has maintained its leadership in Indian higher education. Following closely are IISc Bengaluru at second place and IIT Bombay at third, reflecting the continued dominance of premier science and technology institutes. IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur round out the top five.

In the colleges category, Hindu College (Delhi University) emerged as the number one institution, with Miranda House and Hans Raj College following. Private universities also made their presence felt, with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) breaking into the top three in the universities category, marking a milestone for private education in India.

Significant rises include IIT Patna, which leapt from 73rd to 36th overall. These rankings highlight both consistent excellence and the growing strength of regional institutions across India.
