Amol Muzumdar’s journey reads like redemption in motion. A prolific domestic batter - scoring over 11,000 first-class runs and smashing a 260 on his Ranji debut - he was widely recognised yet never donned the Indian cap.
Fast-forward to October 2023: the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appoints him head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. With unshaken belief and renewed purpose, he steered the squad through setbacks, forged a culture of resilience and demanded excellence. On 2 November 2025, under Muzumdar’s leadership, they clinched India’s first-ever Women’s World Cup title - a watershed for Indian cricket.
Muzumdar often reflects that his playing dream was delayed, not lost: he channeled that into coaching, instilling in his players the power of belief, preparation and unity. His story proves that greatness isn’t only defined by what you achieve on the field - but by how you inspire others to reach it.
