On 12 November 2025, Google launched a special animated Doodle in India titled “Learning the Quadratic Equation” which features the formula ax2+bx+c=0ax^2 + bx + c = 0ax2+bx+c=0. The Doodle illustrates how this seminal mathematical tool applies across fields - from physics and engineering to economics - and even appears in the arching motion of a basketball in flight. 
The animation visually transforms the Google logo into parabolas, showing how the coefficients a, b and c affect the curve’s shape and where the solutions (roots) lie. By clicking the Doodle users are taken to an interactive experience with AI-powered explanations of the equation’s uses in real-world contexts such as projectile motion. 

With many students revisiting quadratic equations in this academic season, the Doodle aims to make mathematics accessible and engaging rather than abstract. As the Doodle page notes, the quadratic equation remains a “most searched” formula for a reason — it’s foundational to solving second-degree problems and modelling curved paths in nature and technology.
