Interviews can feel nerve-wracking, but with the right preparation, you can impress any employer. An interview is simply a conversation to check if your skills, attitude and experience match the role. To make the process easier, follow these key steps:

Before the Interview

  • Confirm details - Check the date, time and whether it’s in-person, phone or video.

  • Study the job description – Understand the skills and experience the employer wants.

  • Research the company – Visit their website, learn about their work culture and projects.

  • Review your CV – Prepare examples that highlight your strengths and achievements.

  • Practise common questions – Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for clear answers.

On the Day of the Interview

  • Reach early – Helps you stay calm and focused.

  • Dress professionally – Make a good first impression.

  • Keep phone silent – Avoid distractions.

  • For online interviews – Check your internet, device and join 5–10 minutes early.

During the Interview

  • Listen carefully and ask for clarification if needed.

  • Use your prepared examples to answer confidently.

  • Ask thoughtful questions at the end about the role or company.

After the Interview

  • Follow up politely with an email if needed.

  • If not selected, request feedback and work on improvement.

This preparation increases your confidence and helps you perform your best.
