India’s most underrated natural wonder is this waterfall city!

Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is widely known as the City of Waterfalls in India. Located on the Chota Nagpur Plateau, the city is blessed with rocky terrain, dense forests, and rivers that naturally form spectacular waterfalls. This unique landscape makes Ranchi one of the most scenic destinations in eastern India.

Some of the most popular waterfalls around Ranchi include Hundru Falls, one of the highest in the state, famous for its powerful flow and wide stretch. Dassam Falls, created by the Subarnarekha River, attracts visitors for its dramatic multi-tiered drop. Jonha Falls, also known as Gautamdhara, is surrounded by steep cliffs and offers a peaceful natural setting.

Apart from waterfalls, Ranchi is admired for its pleasant climate, rich tribal culture, and greenery. During the monsoon season, the waterfalls are at their best, transforming the city into a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and travelers seeking a refreshing escape from crowded urban life.
