Zappfresh, long known for quick-delivery meat and seafood, is now stepping into the frozen vegetarian snacks market with a strategic investment of ₹10 Cr to scale its ready-to-eat portfolio under the new brand Meevaa Foods.
The launch begins in Delhi NCR on February 9, with products also rolling out in Mumbai and Bengaluru from March 1. The company’s initial pilot will feature 12 frozen veg items—including samosas, momos, kebabs, and patties—with plans to introduce new varieties each quarter based on consumer demand.
Zappfresh expects imports and exports to represent about 15–20% of this new segment’s volume, indicating global ambitions beyond domestic shelves. The move is supported by recent strategic acquisitions and strengthening of its manufacturing capabilities, helping the firm bring products to market swiftly.
Founded in 2015, Zappfresh’s expansion into vegetarian snacks reflects its broader pivot from a pure meat-delivery business into diversified frozen foods, as seen through acquisitions and new brand launches.
With the frozen snacks category gaining traction among urban consumers looking for convenient and tasty options, Zappfresh is betting that this investment will position Meevaa Foods as a competitive player in India’s growing frozen foods landscape.
