In 2022, Munmun Desai, a financial veteran with 18 years of experience, lost her cousin brother suddenly. Despite her professional expertise, she found herself struggling to piece together his scattered financial documents while her family grieved. This ordeal highlighted a systemic issue in Indian households: a cultural silence around financial planning and a lack of organization that leaves families vulnerable during illness or death. In 2024, she left her role as a Managing Director to launch FOLO alongside co-founder Vishal Purohit.

FOLO functions as a "financial clarity infrastructure" for the modern Indian family:

Since its beta launch in April 2025, FOLO has grown to support over 60,000 families. Currently free to use, the startup focuses on impact over monetization, aiming to transform financial organization from a chore into a meaningful "act of care" for loved ones. By bridging the gap between earning money and ensuring its accessibility, FOLO is working to ensure that no Indian family has to start from zero when they are at their most vulnerable.
