RPSG Capital Leads ₹33 Cr Pre-Series A for Preventive Nutrition Startup Good Monk!

This funding marks a significant scale-up for the four-year-old startup. The round saw participation from existing investors Sharrp Ventures and Hyperscale Ventures (the family office of Dot & Key founder Suyash Saraf), along with the families of the founders.

Key Highlights of the Deal:

• Valuation Jump: The current valuation of ₹175 crore represents a 2.7x increase from its previous funding round, reflecting strong investor confidence in the "preventive healthcare" sector.

• Product Innovation: Good Monk specializes in "sprinkle-on" nutrition—a powder that can be added to regular food (dal, rotis, rice) without changing the taste, smell, or color. This format is designed to combat "hidden hunger" and micronutrient deficiencies in the Indian diet.

• The "Shark Tank" Boost: The startup recently secured a deal from Vineeta Singh (Co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics) on Shark Tank India Season 4, which has significantly boosted its brand awareness among urban households.

• Financial Health: The company reported being contribution margin positive at the CM3 level, indicating a sustainable path toward profitability despite aggressive growth.

Strategic Roadmap & Use of Funds:

1. R&D & Format Expansion: Investing in clinical trials and research to develop new product formats specifically designed for elderly care and pediatric nutrition.

2. Market Penetration: Expanding distribution beyond major metros into Tier-II and Tier-III cities through both online marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart) and specialized retail channels.

3. Consumer Education: A significant portion of the funds is dedicated to large-scale awareness campaigns to educate consumers on how "invisible nutrition" can prevent long-term health issues without requiring a change in eating habits.

Founder’s Perspective:

CEO and Co-founder Amarpreet Singh Anand (formerly with Diageo and GSK) stated that the capital infusion is not just about scaling a business but about making "easy, effective, and clean nutrition affordable and accessible" to every Indian household.
