When the heat rises, your skin goes into stress mode. Excess sweat, oil, and constant exposure to sun can lead to acne, dullness, rashes, and even dehydration. And the worst part? Most people don’t even realise their skincare routine is making it worse.

The first fix is simple-switch to lightweight products. Heavy creams can trap sweat and clog pores. Gel-based moisturisers and water-based cleansers help your skin breathe and stay fresh.

Another common mistake is over-cleansing. Washing your face too often strips natural oils, making your skin produce even more oil. Instead, stick to gentle cleansing twice a day.

Ingredients also make a huge difference. Look for niacinamide to control oil, hyaluronic acid for hydration, and aloe vera to calm irritation. These keep your skin balanced without feeling greasy.

Sun protection is non-negotiable. Use sunscreen regularly and reapply if you’re outdoors. Pair it with sunglasses, hats, and breathable cotton clothes to reduce direct exposure.

Also, don’t ignore internal care-stay hydrated, eat water-rich foods, and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours.

In a heatwave, skincare isn’t about using more products-it’s about using the right ones and keeping things simple.
