In India, almost every brand today claims to be “eco-friendly,” but the reality is-very few are truly sustainable from start to finish. Still, some brands are genuinely making an effort.
Brands like Fabindia focus on handwoven fabrics and support rural artisans. Doodlage creates clothing from textile waste, helping reduce landfill impact. No Nasties uses organic cotton and follows ethical production practices.
In daily-use products, Bamboo India replaces plastic items with bamboo alternatives, while Nirmalaya turns temple flower waste into incense and eco-products.
But here’s the catch-many brands highlight just one “green” feature while ignoring the bigger picture. That’s called greenwashing.
So instead of trusting big claims, focus on transparency, less plastic, and ethical practices.
Because in today’s India, sustainability isn’t about being perfect…
it’s about being real and consistently improving.
