Canva has rolled out a quirky new update that’s catching the internet’s attention. The design platform has added a language option called “English (chronically online)”, which replaces regular interface text with popular internet slang. Instead of plain instructions, users now see Gen Z–style phrases inspired by memes, social media culture, and online conversations.
Words like slay, rizz, and spill the tea appear across buttons, menus, and prompts, making the design experience feel playful and relatable. The idea behind this update is to connect better with digital-native creators who live and breathe online culture.
Switching to this mode is simple - users can change the language from the settings section inside Canva. The feature is available for both free and paid users, making it accessible to everyone.
With this update, Canva continues to experiment beyond just tools and templates. By blending creativity with internet humor, the platform shows how even small interface changes can make designing feel fresh, fun, and less formal.
