Imagine using your phone with long nails-and it actually works perfectly. A new innovation might make that possible. A chemistry student has developed a clear nail polish that can turn fingernails into touchscreen-friendly tools.
The problem is simple: touchscreens only respond to conductive materials like human skin. That’s why nails, gloves, or even dry skin often fail to register touch properly. This new polish changes that by mimicking the electrical properties of a fingertip.
Using special compounds, the polish allows nails to interact with the screen’s electric field-just like fingers do. This means you could scroll, type, and tap using your nails without any hassle.
It could be especially helpful for people with long nails or those who use gloves in cold conditions. While still in early stages and limited in duration, this small innovation has the potential to solve a big everyday problem.
