"Trump celebrates Silver Jubilee of ceasefire claim, PM Still silent": Congress!

The Indian National Congress on Tuesday, July 22, sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continued silence over U.S. President Donald Trump's repeated assertions that he “prevented a war” between India and Pakistan. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh noted that Trump has made this claim 25 times in just 73 days, sarcastically dubbing it the “silver jubilee” of his self-declared peacemaking.

Trump recently reiterated that “five planes were shot down” during hostilities and claimed credit for ending the conflict by leveraging trade negotiations. However, India has never officially confirmed such losses, and its government has made no formal comment on Trump's recurring statements.

Ramesh accused PM Modi of prioritizing foreign trips and destabilizing domestic democratic institutions over defending India’s global image. “The Prime Minister of India is totally quiet,” he said, questioning the government’s diplomatic posture.

The Congress party has demanded that the Prime Minister clarify India’s stance publicly, stating that continued silence may be interpreted as tacit agreement with Trump’s narrative.
