Aravind Srinivas to Gen Z: Stop scrolling reels, start learning AI!

In a sharp message to today’s youth, Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI, has urged young professionals to reduce time spent watching Instagram reels and instead focus on mastering AI tools. Speaking in multiple interviews, Srinivas warned that artificial intelligence is evolving so rapidly that it’s outpacing human adaptability.

He emphasized that AI fluency is no longer optional - it’s a necessity for future employability. “People who know how to use AI will be more valuable than those who don’t,” he said. The CEO noted that advancements in AI now occur in 3–6 month cycles, leaving little room for complacency.

Srinivas believes many traditional jobs will vanish, but this shift also opens doors. Young people must either use AI to build startups or adapt quickly to new roles. Tools like Perplexity’s Comet could even automate tasks like recruiting entirely.

His final advice: Keep learning, keep building - or risk becoming irrelevant in a tech-driven job market.
