Tesla Model Y hits Indian roads! Price starting from ₹60 lakhs!

Tesla has officially launched in India with Model Y cars priced from ₹60 lakh ($69,766), opening its first showroom in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. The company offers Model Y rear-wheel drive for ₹60 lakh and long-range variant for ₹68 lakh, significantly higher than US pricing due to import duties.

A second showroom will open in New Delhi by July's end. Without local manufacturing plans, Tesla's entry focuses on gauging demand and building brand presence rather than immediate volume gains. The move comes as Tesla faces challenges in China and the US, seeking growth in India's relatively untapped EV market despite low penetration rates.
